A very warm welcome to Sparrows, Year 3

Sparrows, Year 3 marks an exciting new chapter filled with opportunities for growth and independence. Pupils are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their school day, building strong organisational skills as they begin their learning journey in Key Stage 2. This is a significant step from the continuous provision approach of Key Stage 1, as lessons now follow a more structured timetable. However, a balance of carpet sessions and table work helps to ensure a smooth and supportive transition between the two stages.

In Year 3, children are also introduced to new subjects and experiences. They begin to learn French, which I am sure they approach with great enthusiasm. Through RE and PSHE, they are encouraged to think more deeply about spiritual and moral questions, reflecting on how to grow as individuals both within St Paul’s and as part of the wider community. Meanwhile, PE and Games continue to play a vital role in promoting teamwork, enjoyment, and a healthy lifestyle.

There is so much to explore, discover, and celebrate in this first year of Key Stage 2!
